사도행전 6장
[일곱 일꾼을 택하다]
1. 그 때에 제자가 더 많아졌는데 헬라파 유대인들이 자기의 과부들이 매일의 구제에 빠지므로 히브리파 사람을 원망하니
2. 열두 사도가 모든 제자를 불러 이르되 우리가 하나님의 말씀을 제쳐 놓고 접대를 일삼는 것이 마땅하지 아니하니
3. 형제들아 너희 가운데서 성령과 지혜가 충만하여 칭찬 받는 사람 일곱을 택하라 우리가 이 일을 그들에게 맡기고
4. 우리는 오로지 기도하는 일과 말씀 사역에 힘쓰리라 하니
5. 온 무리가 이 말을 기뻐하여 믿음과 성령이 충만한 사람 스데반과 또 빌립과 브로고로와 니가노르와 디몬과 바메나와 유대교에 입교했던 안디옥 사람 니골라를 택하여
6. 사도들 앞에 세우니 사도들이 기도하고 그들에게 안수하니라
7. 하나님의 말씀이 점점 왕성하여 예루살렘에 있는 제자의 수가 더 심히 많아지고 허다한 제사장의 무리도 이 도에 복종하니라
[스데반이 잡히다]
8. 스데반이 은혜와 권능이 충만하여 큰 기사와 표적을 민간에 행하니
9. 이른 바 자유민들 즉 구레네인, 알렉산드리아인, 길리기아와 아시아에서 온 사람들의 회당에서 어떤 자들이 일어나 스데반과 더불어 논쟁할새
10. 스데반이 지혜와 성령으로 말함을 그들이 능히 당하지 못하여
11. 사람들을 매수하여 말하게 하되 이 사람이 모세와 하나님을 모독하는 말을 하는 것을 우리가 들었노라 하게 하고
12. 백성과 장로와 서기관들을 충동시켜 와서 잡아가지고 공회에 이르러
13. 거짓 증인들을 세우니 이르되 이 사람이 이 거룩한 곳과 율법을 거슬러 말하기를 마지 아니하는도다
14. 그의 말에 이 나사렛 예수가 이 곳을 헐고 또 모세가 우리에게 전하여 준 규례를 고치겠다 함을 우리가 들었노라 하거늘
15. 공회 중에 앉은 사람들이 다 스데반을 주목하여 보니 그 얼굴이 천사의 얼굴과 같더라

Acts 6
1 In those days when the number of disciples was increasing, the Grecian Jews among them complained against the Hebraic Jews because their widows were being overlooked in the daily distribution of food.
2 So the Twelve gathered all the disciples together and said, "It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the word of God in order to wait on tables.
3 Brothers, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them
4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word."
5 This proposal pleased the whole group. They chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit; also Philip, Procorus, Nicanor, Timon, Parmenas, and Nicolas from Antioch, a convert to Judaism.
6 They presented these men to the apostles, who prayed and laid their hands on them.
7 So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.
8 Now Stephen, a man full of God's grace and power, did great wonders and miraculous signs among the people.
9 Opposition arose, however, from members of the Synagogue of the Freedmen (as it was called)--Jews of Cyrene and Alexandria as well as the provinces of Cilicia and Asia. These men began to argue with Stephen,
10 but they could not stand up against his wisdom or the Spirit by whom he spoke.
11 Then they secretly persuaded some men to say, "We have heard Stephen speak words of blasphemy against Moses and against God."
12 So they stirred up the people and the elders and the teachers of the law. They seized Stephen and brought him before the Sanhedrin.
13 They produced false witnesses, who testified, "This fellow never stops speaking against this holy place and against the law.
14 For we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs Moses handed down to us."
15 All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

[Ang Pito ka Katabang]
1 Wala madugay, samtang nag-anam ug kadaghan ang mga tinun-an, nagkabingkil ang mga lumad nga Judio ug ang mga Judio nga Grego ang pinulongan. Ang mga Judio nga Grego ang pinulongan miingon nga ang ilang mga biyuda wala kahatagi sa ilang bahin sa matag adlaw nga pag-apod-apod.

3 Busa, mga igsoon, pagpili kamog pito ka tawo gikan kaninyo nga kasaligan, puno sa Espiritu Santo ug sa kaalam ug amo silang tugyanan niining buluhatona.
4 Niining paagiha makagahin kami sa tibuok namong panahon sa pag-ampo ug sa pagwali.”
5 Ang tibuok pundok nahimuot sa sugyot sa mga apostoles. Busa gipili nila si Esteban nga puno sa pagtuo ug sa Espiritu Santo, ug si Felipe, si Procoro, si Nicanor, si Timon, si Parmenas ug si Nicolas nga taga-Antioquia nga nakabig ngadto sa pagka-Judio.
6 Unya ilang gidala sila ngadto sa mga apostoles ug ang mga apostoles nag-ampo ug nagpandong kanila sa ilang mga kamot.
7 Busa mipadayon pagkaylap ang pulong sa Dios. Ang mga tinun-an didto sa Jerusalem nag-anam kadaghan ug daghan kaayong mga pari nga midawat sa pagtuo.
[Gidakop si Esteban]
8 Si Esteban, usa ka tawo nga puno sa grasya ug sa gahom, naghimog dagkong mga milagro ug mga butang nga katingalahan atubangan sa katawhan.
9 Apan may mga tawo nga misupak ug nakiglantugi kaniya. Ang uban kanila mga Judio nga taga-Cirene ug Alejandria nga sakop sa sinagoga nga ginganlag mga tawong Gawasnon, ug ang uban taga-Cilicia ug Asia.
10 Apan si Esteban puno sa Espiritu ug kaalam ug tungod niini wala sila makabuntog kaniya sa lantugi.
11 Busa, sa tago, nanuhol sila ug mga tawo aron pag-ingon, “Nakadungog kami kaniya nga nagpasipala kang Moises ug sa Dios!”
12 Tungod niini nagubot ang mga tawo ug ang mga kadagkoan sa templo ug ang mga magtutudlo sa Balaod. Unya ilang gidakop si Esteban ug gidala nila ngadto sa Labawng Hukmanan.
13 Unya ilang gipaatubang ang pipila ka mga tawo aron pagsaksi ug bakak batok kaniya. Miingon sila, “Kining tawhana kanunay nagpasipala sa atong balaang Templo ug sa Balaod ni Moises.
14 Nadungog namo siya nga miingon nga kining Jesus nga Nazaretnon moguba sa Templo ug usbon niya ang mga tulomanon nga gibilin ni Moises kanato!”
15 Ang tanang mga sakop sa Labawng Hukmanan mitutok kang Esteban ug nakita nila nga ang iyang nawong nahisama sa nawong sa usa ka anghel.
